You good?

I went to this book as if I’ve never read a Miles Morales comic book before (technically I haven’t, but I have every issue of the last series) with my only real knowledge of him is from watching Into The Spider-Verse. Quick sidebar, the artwork is incredible! – the colors pop like crazy! --- anyway lol- In my head I immediately said “what?!!” when Miles said “you good?” and went to see who the writer was hahah (Cody Ziglar, you did an incredible job with the writing and moving the dialogue) and felt more at piece once I did (I don’t have to get into too much detail, but you know what I mean). I thoroughly enjoyed the juxtaposition that was displayed, with Miles being a teenager in Highschool, but at the same time he has a duty to not only fight crime, but fight for his city.

Loved the interaction that Miles had with his parents (Mother AND father) and I’m looking forward to seeing how not only Miles develop as Spider-Man, but also a human being.

30 Years

My love for comic books goes back 30 years now, a relationship that I have never put my all in, but I’ve always shown interest. I can’t list my top 5 favorite writers, illustrators, or stories, but I can guarantee I have more comic books than 90 % of the people that will read this post.  I’m a collector, I enjoy driving to my LCS on a Wednesday, or picking up my reserves on a Saturday, bagging/boarding and putting them in order.

For the next 30 years, I want to get more into reading – seeing the growth of the writers and the characters themselves – building more of a connection and seeing what the future holds as far as their stories go.
