I come alive when the lights are out
And the other ones turn on
The TV is turned on
I’ve tuned it out
But tuned in to how I
Turn on a swivel to catch
The score
My core is at the core
Of what I’m sitting up for
I was certain that when I stared
I wouldn’t get pulled in
A tug so gentle I wasn’t aware
Of when it attached
Itself
A fear that was snatched away
I share things in pieces
Because the whole would cause fractions
Described in my poetry
Are the things I can’t formulate perfectly
I scribe in my reality
How it would be a mistake
To take things
Without asking- for Granted
Or anything that has a different name
Than what we actually call it
Slight obsession
