My Name Is (many)

I would first like to apologize for my eyes

How they act as your bodyguard making sure you arrive to your location safely

lately they have been looking as your physical is nowhere to be found

but the sound of your presence fills the room – no space for elephants

I could never be accused of negligence

you are always a primary concern but I've learned your space is necessary

for legendary to remain on your name tag

Second I apologize for my writing

Igniting my name tag is something I never felt necessary

But when you asked the difference between the two the view

has been much clearer

I wish you were much nearer

but insightful is my vision frightful is now a prison and our distance is more like ball toss

you once left me at a loss of words

now they fall like golf balls of hail – Your name is braille on my tongue

familiar- it rolls like sled rides and continuous pace

I face you with ambiguous grace – patience – and obedience

You'd probably never accept the title genius

your craft sometimes doesn't allow you to sit back and look

at all the edges

You are worth the hundreds of hours I spend trying to recreate

your essence from scratch

embarrassed at times, no watch could ever tell me

what you can.

Could never make me tick like you can

I unlatch and unstrap

I run my fingers across your palms and wrist

as if it could make me time travel to a past life
