Just came back from a My Spoken Mark competition near Rutgers University – I was invited by two individuals that were performing and who are also running the event I will be performing at on Saturday --- Collaborating with the My Spoken Mark administration was Verbal Mayhem who I may no a thing or two about lol. This was the first time that I was able to flex my Verbal Mayhem muscle and enter an establishment, made me feel important…. I am important but you know what I mean.
After the event I was able to speak to some of the current E-Board for Mayhem (I try to show my face at least once a year just to give back, see if they need any help with anything, and also to keep the legacy connected ---- Verbal Mayhem jumpstarted a lot of things in my life, many things lead back to 25 Stone Street) – It was a great conversation and hopefully we’ll connect again in the near future.
I am longing for the arts to once again become a permanent fixture in the New Brunswick area. One for my own selfish reasons (Not really selfish, but with it I don’t have to travel far to hear poetry and/or perform) and two, New Brunswick was once known to be a heavily artistic place.
Bedtime for me – once I awaken I have some comics to put away and then get focused on some writing.
