Was asked to attend an open mic tonight on behalf of another poet- he has a feature tonight, and is performing pieces in preparation for an upcoming slam that he has – I myself have semi retired from the slam life, as I believe I have advanced as far as I can…. Or would like to with it.  I still would like to compete in Southern Fried, but that doesn’t make or break my slam “career.” 

                I’ve been asked to observe the pieces, and give the poet an opinion on the order he should use them in his upcoming slam… I will do that, but I also be giving him my opinion on his overall feature set. 

I’m pretty sure I’ll be asked to perform on the open mic list, but I will humbly declining as 1) I need to return home to prepare for tomorrows events and 2) I wasn’t planning on performing – I’ve been to events where the hosts haggle you to go up, either not understanding that just because you are a poet that doesn’t mean you always want to perform and/or just not respecting your words.  

                Overall looking forward to tonight and hopefully it brings inspiration.
