This past Wednesday I traveled to Newark for Episode 11 of The Residency, ran by Craig Bradley, with Don Krypton on the 1’s and 2’s.
What was supposed to be the season finale, Episode 11 turned into a pipeline to run it back one more time in December as the energy and artistry flowed throughout the night.
I was a little sluggish at first from a long work day, but I knew there were going to be poems and poets that would get me where I needed to be. That energy came from my guy GHOST, who performed in the “Mic is
open” section, where you feel the vibe, then walk up and perform. I performed “Antiquity” from the Terms And Renditions project, and became a different person after lol- It felt like one of those snickers commercials, as I was full of joy after stepping away from the mic. I had a few conversations regarding energy/performing that provided the calm I needed- but it also gave me the push I needed.
Craig once again showcased solid hosting skills, slicing through the room, making sure everyone was in a good mood.
Don Krypton provided the tunes that packed the floor in between the performances
Drinks were flowing
Conversations were brimming
I was fed.
